Title: How to make simple flash button
Description: Display a flash button with hover effect. This tutorial can be apply to replace the navigation bar.
Requirement: Adobe Photoshop CS, Flash MX or higher
Tested With: works well in Fx2,but not in IE

TEST IT HERE

Before you open da macromedia flash software, First of all, u need to make a simple button using adobe photoshop with size of 138x27px or any size dat u want.

I make 2 here, one is for da hover effect and one for da static display.

For da hover i use opacity.U can use any other effects such as filter, blur and etc or even make a new design for ur button. Save da buttons as gif or jpg.in here i saved with names frenz.gif for da static and frenz2.gif for da hover.

Now lets begin!

Step 1:
Open ur flash software and choose File > Import to library> Choose da button dat u designed juz now.

Actived ur library by pressing F11. Da library window will look like dis.

Step 2:
Then press da cross button to convert da button to symbol.

and window below is derived.

Step 3:
After dat drag da image button(frenz.gif) into da button main board and make sure da image will fit da "Up" Timeline.

the timeline should look like this.

Step 4:
Then go to "over" timeline,right click and insert keyframe like shown below.
After that u need to drag da second image (the hover image/frenz2.gif) into the button board area and place it exactly on top of the first image.

Add the keyframe until the "Hit" time line like da picture shown below.

Step 6:
Then click the Scene 1 at the top of the main board to go to the main board to edit.

Drag the button on the board and test it by actived the "Enable Live Preview" or choose

Control>Test Movie

And walah.. pat urself at da back and u juz make a button!

IMPORTANT TIPS:

Now lets add some simple coding to it.

Step 7:
Right click the button and choose Actions.

Step8:
Drag the actions of "go to" and "get url" on to da board and type ur URL
address. You can also select the windows option either to blank, self, parent or top.

hi ms. skull thanks for this tutorial... am, do u have an installer of the MACROMEDIA FLASH PROFESSIONAL MX 2004? can i ask?

yep i got the cd but im not sure where did i put it.. it has been awhile since i moved to a new house... when i found it i PM u.. but i cant promise u i can find it.. ok
